Adaptive Multi Factor Authentication for Remote Desktop (RDP)

Spriv's patented Credential Provider adds two-factor authentication directly to the Windows login screen. Spriv is the fastest 2nd-channel MFA for RDP, and the only company offering Adaptive MFA for Windows RDP.

Installing Spriv's Windows Adaptive Multi Factor Authentication for Remote Desktop
Before you install: sign up for a company account under Getting Started, and confirm the logon user already exists in Spriv's end-user list and is successfully paired with a mobile phone pairing must happen before RDP is installed on the server.

  1. Pick the right installer

    Log on to Spriv's Adaptive MFA Control Panel, click "Applications" in the right menu, and download the version matching your server's OS: x86 for 32-bit Windows, x64 for 64-bit. If the PC has more than 4GB of RAM, it's most likely running 64-bit.

  2. Run the installer

    Download the correct x86/x64 file, unzip it, double-click, then "Next." Accept the license agreement, choose an install directory, and click "Next" again.

  3. Configure the service

    Enter a Service Name (shown to users while connecting), Login Text (shown on the user's phone app)

  4. Add API credentials

    Enter the API Key and API Secret from the Control Panel's "Service Account" section, click "Next," then "Install."

  5. Log in with MFA

    Once installed, logging on to the RDP server presents four authentication options: Adaptive Multi Factor Authentication, Allow/Deny, Two-Way SMS, and TOTP.

Uninstalling

Two ways to remove the Credential Provider:

Safe mode

Reboot in safe mode, go to c:\Program Files\Spriv LLC\Spriv Credential Provider\, and double-click UnregisterFilter. Re-enable later with RegisterFilter in the same folder.

Control Panel

Open Control Panel → "Uninstall Program" → select "Spriv Credential Provider for Windows" → click "Uninstall."
