How to pair a mobile phone with a username

Three ways to pair: Email, Manual, or SMS. Pairing links expire after 72 hours, or immediately after first use.

Step 1

Install the app

iPhone

Open the App Store and search for "Spriv-authenticator."

Android

Open Google Play and search for "Spriv."

Method A

Email pairing

On your phone

Click the unique "Pair my phone" URL, click "Click here to pair," then select "Open."

On a computer

Keep the pairing email open it shows a QR code. Open the Spriv app on your phone, tap the QR symbol, and scan it.

Method B

Manual pairing

  1. Open the app

    Launch the Spriv mobile app.

  2. Go to Pairing

    Open the menu and select "Pairing."

  3. Enter your details

    Enter your email address and the pairing code provided by your admin.

  4. Confirm

    Click "Pair."

Method C

SMS pairing

  1. Click the link

    Open the pairing link sent by SMS.

  2. Confirm

    Select "Click here to pair," then click "Open."

Notes: For security reasons, the pairing link expires after either (a) a successful pairing or (b) 72 hours from the time it was issued. If 72 hours have passed and the pairing link has expired, you can contact your system administrator to request a new pairing email. If you don’t receive the pairing email, please check your spam or junk folder. Manual pairing requires a code provided by your administrator. Once pairing is successful, your email address will appear in the Spriv Authenticator mobile app with a “TOTP” indicator. You only need to complete the pairing process once.
