How to remove Spriv Multi-Factor Authentication (RDP)?
- Reboot in Safe Mode: Start your computer in safe mode [instructions below].
- Navigate to Spriv Folder: Open “File Explorer” and go to:
C:\Program Files\Spriv LLC\Spriv Credential Provider\ - Run UnregisterFilter.reg: Double-click UnregisterFilter.reg to remove Spriv Multi-Factor Authentication for Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) from the registry.
- Reboot Your Computer: Restart your computer.
- Spriv Login Screen: After reboot, the Spriv login screen will still appear.
- Select Original Login Method: On the left side of the login screen, select your original login method and log in to your computer.
- Uninstall Spriv Credential Provider: Once logged in:
- Go to Control Panel > Uninstall a Program.
- Select Spriv Credential Provider for Windows and click Uninstall.
- Reboot Again: Restart your computer.
- Verify Original Login: After the final reboot, only your original login method will be available.
How to start in Safe Mode on Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and 11
- Click the Start button and select the Power icon.
- Hold down the Shift key and click Restart.
- Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings.
- Click the Restart button. Your computer will restart.
- From the menu that appears, press 4 on your keyboard to enable Safe Mode [Do not select with Networking].
How to start in Safe Mode on Windows 7
- Turn on or restart your computer.
- While it’s starting, hold down the F8 key before the Windows logo appears.
- When the menu appears, release the F8 key.
- Use the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode or Safe Mode. [Do not select with Networking].
- Press Enter.
